Getting The Right Abstract Watercolor Painting You Match Your Home And Style

By Jerri Perry

There is a certain amount of skill that it takes in order to choose out the right piece of art work to properly accentuate you home. With a keen eye, and a sharp sense of style you are sure to be able to find the best abstract watercolor painting to suit your home. Before you begin your search though, you will want to get a few things straight so that you know just what you are searching for.

The color scheme does not necessarily have to match that of your home but they should complement one another. Finding the right colors that will add to your home rather than stand out as an eye sore takes a little practice for some people. If you are concerned that you don't have the eye required to spot these subtleties than you might just want to enlist the help of a few friends to get a proper consensus.

Choosing a design can be another difficult task to take on. The range of abstract art is so large that it can be overwhelming at times. It can consist of anything from a couple of paint splatters on a canvas to an intricate display of an assortment of different shapes, or anything else that the artist can come up with. Decide before whether you want the piece to make a statement or have it simply for the aesthetic appeal.

Finding the right one to go with the theme of your home is what it all comes down to. As long as it feels right to you it will work. If you know what you want before you get into it then you will be sure to get what you want coming out of it. Decide on a color plan and the amount of design that you want so that you have the basic concept of what you want.

Purchasing directly from an artist is the best way to directly support the arts. You can do a search on the internet to find artists in you area that may be able to provide what you are looking for. Alternatively, you may want to check out as many galleries in your area to see if there is something there that you may be interested in.

Searching online is another great way of finding some real gems that you may have not been exposed to otherwise. Most artists have their portfolios available on their websites so you can literally search through thousands of paintings from the comfort of your own home. This gives you many more options than you would have had otherwise and greatly increases your chances of finding the right one for you.

Searching through used furniture shops and thrift stores may be a fools pursuit but you never know what you might find hidden underneath all of that junk. You just might find exactly what you are searching for. The upside to this method is that the cost should be significantly less since you won't be purchasing directly from the artist.

Be sure that the abstract watercolor painting you found will still work well with the room once you get it home. This can be difficult to gauge without actually hanging it in the room, but if that's what it takes then go for it. Most artists will be willing to allow this if it might mean a sale so don't be afraid to ask.
